Swechhya’s exhibition, Ineffable Inquiries: Body as Ground, is a collection of paintings that are an exploration of the question – what is the body and who are we in relation to it?
From an interest in the human body as a ground for tapping into the unconscious, she utilizes the embodied and non-verbal medium of painting for her exploration. Inspired by her view of the human form as a middle ground where material and ethereal meet, she paints abstracted human figures in an atmospheric ground to depict this tension between form and formlessness. |
